If you have been kept abreast of the latest developments in the cannabis industry, you will have heard of the different uses in various medical conditions that cannabis can provide. Researchers have uncovered evidence which seems to suggest that it can help with everything from cancer to chronic pain. But, is cannabis able to help with the promotion of hair growth?

There may be some truth to this story as there is plenty of anecdotal evidence out there which seems to promote this theory. There has been unofficial studies taking place where cannabis users who use cannabis around three to five times a week have noticed faster hair growth. Can it be safely assumed that this hair growth is due to the cannabis?

When you use cannabis, it is thought that testosterone levels go down, while Estrogen levels increase. It has been a long held belief that when estrogen levels are high, this results in increased hair growth. But, with this, women suffer from other problems when estrogen levels are high, such as painful periods and cramps. Men don’t escape unscathed from high estrogen levels either, because it is thought that these levels contribute to baldness in the long term. Therefore, it shouldn’t be a long-term solution.

When you use cannabis on a regular basis, one of the main benefits is that it increases your metabolic rate. The result of this is an increase in the rate of digestion and the body as a result works a little faster and more efficiently. To counteract the disadvantages of a quick metabolism, medical advice suggests using antioxidants such as Schizandra.

Will a Reduction in Stress Increase Hair Growth?

Chronic stress is one of the main causes of baldness. Cannabis has an effect on reducing stress and anxiety when you use it on a daily basis, so it could be argued that cannabis could reduce stress and in turn, this stops baldness from occurring.

As you can see, there are both positives and negatives for using cannabis for the purpose of hair growth. It may be the right treatment solution for some, but not for others. If you know for sure that your hair loss was triggered by stress, it may be a good option for you.
